A shadow is a reflection of the object.
The idea
A shadow is where light is blocked, so it always points away from the light; moving the light changes the shadow's direction and length.
Explain it
A friend says a shadow is a picture of you, like a reflection. Use two lights to show them it is not.
Try at home
In a dark room, shine a torch at a toy from the side, then from high up. Try two torches at once. Outside, mark a stick's shadow with chalk at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:00.
